On October 22, 2007, Ève Curie, French author, medical researcher, writer, and daughter of Marie Skłodowska Curie, passed away at the age of 102. She was born on December 6, 1904 in Paris, France. She attended the Sorbonne and the Institut Pasteur. A renowned scientist and researcher, Ève Curie published her own scientific papers, conducted her own studies, and wrote biographies of both her mother and her husband, Henri Labouisse. She received numerous awards throughout her lifetime, including the American National Medal of Science and the French Legion of Honor. She also served as the president of the Unesco International Music Council. Always passionate about learning, Ève spoke English, Spanish, German, and Slovak in addition to her native French. She will be remembered for her scientific contributions, her breadth of language knowledge, and her unwavering dedication to learning and knowledge.
