The 83 year-old was a pioneer of the industry, having made his big break with the hit 1970s series, The Rookies. Spelling went on to produce some of the most iconic shows in television history, including Charlie’s Angels, Fantasy Island, Dynasty, 7th Heaven, and Beverly Hills, 90210. He worked on a total of 221 productions throughout his career, making him one of the most successful television producers of all time. Spelling also wrote several books during his lifetime and was active in philanthropy, donating generously to numerous charities. He is survived by his wife Candy and their two children, Tori and Randy.
