Adam Yauch, 47, of New York, passed away on May 4th, 2012. Adam was a successful musician, lyricist, music producer, and film director. He was best known as a founding member of the iconic hip-hop group Beastie Boys and also helped start the Milarepa Fund, an international non-profit foundation dedicated to promoting awareness and activism through humanitarian efforts in Tibet. The Beastie Boys achieved worldwide popularity with albums such as "Licensed to Ill" and "Paul's Boutique," and they remained one of the most successful and influential groups in the music industry. As a solo artist, Adam released the album "Nirvana Sitar and String Group" under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hornblower. Adam's achievements were further recognized with numerous awards, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Adam will be remembered for his incredible talent, his dedication to social activism, and his everlasting influence on hip-hop.
