Prominent arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi passed away on June 6, 2017 at the age of 81. Born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Adnan began his career as a businessman in the 1960's. He quickly earned a reputation as a shrewd yet generous negotiator who became known for his lavish lifestyle and indulgences. He quickly grew and diversified his investment portfolio that spanned across the globe. Khashoggi was perhaps best known for his involvement in the global arms trade in the 1980's. Adnan negotiated and organized numerous deals, earning him vast sums of money and notoriety. Despite his success as an arms dealer, many portrayed Adnan as a villain, a label he vigorously denied. Adnan was also known for his philanthropy, supporting numerous charities in both the United States and Saudi Arabia. He donated generously to medical research initiatives, humanitarian causes and Middle Eastern relief. During his life, Adnan Khashoggi had two wives and seven children. He is survived by his children, his former wives, and his many friends, colleagues and admirers. He will be remembered as a shrewd, generous and emotionally generous man, and his legacy of global business and philanthropic success will live on.
