It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of beloved actor and comedian Andrew Sachs, who passed away on November 23, 2016 at the age of 86. Andrew was best known for his iconic portrayal of the beloved character Manuel on the classic 1970's BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers. Starting his career in the 1960's, Andrew appeared in a string of successful films including the Nativity Play (1965), The Curse of the Werewolf (1961) as well as roles in the 'Carry On' films. Andrew also performed extensively on stage and had a long career in television that included notable appearances in many shows including Coronation Street, the Kill Doctor Lucky, Casualty, the New Statesman and EastEnders. Andrew was an instantly recognizable figure and his warmhearted and endearing character will be remembered by many for many years to come. He was an inspiration for many aspiring actors and will be greatly missed.
