Feroz Khan, an Indian film actor, director and producer, passed away on April 27, 2009, at age 69. He began his career in the Hindi film industry in 1964 and went on to become one of the most successful and respected actors in the industry. He starred in hits such as Qurbani, Dil Dariya, Dacait and Janbaaz, among other films, and loved for his larger-than-life on-screen persona, natural comic timing and strong emotional performances. Khan was born on 25 October 1939, in Bangalore, to a Pathan family and moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor. He launched his own production house, FK International, and embarked on a second career as a producer and director, with productions such as Jaanbaaz and Yalgaar. His work as an actor and producer was highly acclaimed, and he was awarded India's fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, in 2012. Khan is survived by his wife Sundari Khan and two sons, Sanjay Khan and Fardeen Khan. He is remembered fondly by his family and fans around the world.
