Ashraf Marwan, the son of former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser, passed away on June 27, 2007 at the age of 63. He enjoyed a successful career in business and politics, working with the Egyptian government and numerous private companies. He was well-known for his work in raising awareness of Egypt’s political standing in the Middle East, and was an influential figure in the region. Marwan is survived by his wife, Mona Marwan, who was also a prolific figure in Egyptian politics, and their children Nasser and Yasmina. He will be remembered for his contributions to both the political and educational development of Egypt, and the impact he had on the Middle East on the whole.
