Basil Brown, who lived from 1888-1977-03-12, passed away at the age of 89. He was born and raised in rural Suffolk, England and was a prominent archaeologist and excavator. He is best known for his significant role in the discovery and preservation of the Anglo-Saxon ship found at Sutton Hoo. He is remembered for his maiden achievements and his passionate work in the fields of archaeology and history. In recognition of his achievements he was the recipient of an OBE and Sodiester Medal. Basil will continue to be remembered with admiration and respect for years to come.
