Charles Stanley, world-renowned pastor, televangelist and author, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023 at the age of 90. He was born to George and Stella Stanley on August 24, 1932 in Dry Fork, Virginia. At the age of 18, Charles committed his life to Christian service and began pastoring a small church near Dry Fork — a job he took great pride in. Over his lifetime, Charles preached to hundreds of thousands of people, and authored over 50 books. He was a frequent guest on many large talk shows, including "The Hour of Power" and "The 700 Club". In 1971, Charles founded In Touch Ministries (ITM), a communication organization that amplifies his voice around the world on television, radio, the internet, print and in person. Charles is remembered for his passionate and unfailing commitment to the Holy Spirit, his unique ability to reach people with his messages and his unwavering dedication to the mission of ITM. He was a beloved leader, mentor, and figure in the Christian community. Charles is survived by his wife Anna, four sons, seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
