On March 31, 1969, Conrad Hilton, Jr. passed away at the age of 42. Conrad was a renowned and successful businessman as the eldest son of Conrad Hilton, Sr., the founder and creator of the esteemed Hilton Hotel Chain. He was primarily known for his business acumen and was hailed as a brilliant leader and entrepreneur. Conrad was born on June 8, 1926 in Dallas, Texas. An honors student in high school, Conrad was an avid reader and scholar. Although he received a full scholarship to Harvard University, Conrad enlisted in the Army to serve during World War II. Upon his return, he re-enrolled in school and eventually graduated from the University of Arizona. Conrad eventually became the head of the shopping-center development company, Conrad Hilton Jr. Builders, which achieved great success. He was highly regarded and admired as he was a producer at Wilshire-Ebell theater, a director of the Beverly Hills National Bank and also a director of both Hilton Hotels and the Hilton International Hotel Corporation. In his personal life, Conrad was married four times and had two sons for whom he provided excellent care and guidance. He was a beloved father and husband with a passion for philanthropy. Aside from his work in the business world, he also contributed to numerous worthy causes. Conrad Hugh Hilton Jr. will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, businessman and philanthropist. He will be dearly missed.
