David Hedison, famed actor of stage and screen, died on July 18, 2019 at the age of 92. Born on May 20, 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island, David was the son of a Lebanese father, Alec Hedison, and a Swedish-American mother, Eoline Edwards Hedison. He took drama classes while at Brown University, and, after serving in the United States Air Force, he continued to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. Thomas started his acting career on Broadway in the 1950s, appearing in plays such as “The Devil’s Disciple” and “The Tender Trap”. His first feature film role was the 1958 drama “The Fly”. He went on to star in a wide array of television shows and films, landing roles in such iconic series as “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and “Lois & Clark” and movies including “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea”, “Live and Let Die”, and “License to Kill”. David's career spanned six decades, from the 1950s through the 2010s. He won multiple awards for his work, including two Emmy nominations and two lifetime achievement awards. David was predeceased by his parents and his brother Dennis Hedison. He is survived by his wife Bridget Hedison, his sons Maurice and Alec, and his four grandchildren.
