Godfrey Gao (1984-2019) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27th at age 35. He was born in Taiwan, and later moved to Vancouver, Canada to pursue his studies. He began his career as a model and actor in 2006, participating in the 2006 Canada-Asia Model Search Competition and becoming the first Asian model to appear on the cover of a global fashion magazine, Men's Health. In 2010, Godfrey released his first single “Waiting For You.” Godfrey is best known for his roles in the movies "The Jade Pendant" and "The Wrath of Vajra," as well as his appearances in the 2016-2017 Taiwanese television series "The Unbeatable." He also recently played the role of Magnus Bane in the movie adaptation of the young adult novel series "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones". Godfrey was an inspiring role model for many individuals, having achieved incredible success in his short but well-lived life. He will be remembered fondly by his friends, family, and fans around the world. May he rest in peace.
