Greg Giraldo, comedian and former judge on NBC's Last Comic Standing, passed away on September 29th, 2010 at the age of 44. Giraldo found his place in comedy in the 90s with regular appearances on Comedy Central's "Stand Up Stand Up" and appearances on the late-night talk shows such as "Late Night with David Letterman", "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson". He was perhaps best known for his frequent appearances on Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn" for five seasons, as well as his frequent stand-up performances on The Howard Stern Show and Comedy Central Presents. He was also the star of his own one-hour stand-up special "Midlife Vices" on Comedy Central, as well as the host of the Comedy Central "Half-Hour Comedy Hour" show. Giraldo was part of a highly successful comedy career which included a Golden Clio award for his work on Sony Gameroom TV spots as well as appearances on Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations." He was the only comedian to have ever been featured in Rolling Stone's "Comedians" issue. Giraldo's death at the age of 44 brings an end to the life and career of a beloved, revered and highly respected comedian whose hilarity and intelligence were a source of joy for many. He will be dearly missed.
