Gudrun Burwitz, daughter of Heinrich Himmler, died on 24th of May 2018, aged 88, after a long and eventful life. Born on 8th August, 1929 in Munich to Heinrich and Margarete Himmler, Gudrun grew up in Berlin. After her father's rise to power and controversial role in the Nazi regime, Gudrun acted as one of his trusted assistants, helping over the years to look after his estate and preserve his memory. She was married to Wulf-Dieter Burwitz in 1951, and had two children. After the end of World War II, she had a successful career in public relations and was later active in Neo-Nazi groups and organisations. Her public activities spanned more than five decades, and she was often met with both criticism and recognition. However, despite the controversy, she was highly regarded by many for her determination and dedication to her convictions. Gudrun is survived by her two children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
