It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Irrfan Khan, actor, wordsmith and icon of the Indian film industry, who passed away on April 29th 2020, at the age of 53. Irrfan's storied career in cinema, spanning almost three decades, saw him captivate and enthral both local and international audiences, working with some of the most renowned actors, directors, and producers throughout his career. He debuted in Bollywood in the early 1990s, quickly making a name for himself with his multitude of acclaimed performances, winning many awards and accolades throughout his career – most notably the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards in India. He continued to exceed expectations with a prolific and versatile career, having acted in over 50 major projects over nearly thirty years, including roles in international films such as 'Life of Pi' and 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Irrfan's incredible acting talent combined with his charisma, wit and poise is something that will be sorely missed. He was an amazing actor as well as a devoted husband and father, who leaves behind his wife Utkarsha and their two sons, Babil and Ayaan. He was an inspiration to us all, and will be deeply missed by fans, friends and family alike.
