Jacobus Kapteyn

Dutch astronomer, best known for his extensive studies of the milky way and as the first discoverer of evidence for galactic rotation (1851-1922).

Born January 19th, 1851 in Barneveld, Utrecht.

Died June 18th, 1922 at 71 years old in Amsterdam.
