Jeff Conaway, an actor and singer who is best known for his roles in the television shows "Taxi" and "Grease" as well as his role on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," passed away on May 27th, 2011. He was 60 years old. Conaway was born in New York City and grew up in Long Island. After appearing in off-Broadway productions and making his debut in Broadway's Beatles show "Rain" in 1972, Conaway moved to California to continue his acting career. It was in 1978 with the hit movie and musical Grease that Conaway's career was brought to the public's attention. Playing the character Kenickie, Conaway made an impression. He then focused on television, playing the character Bobby Wheeler on the hit show "Taxi" from 1978 to 1982. Other television roles included the sitcom "Babylon 5" and his appearance with Dr. Drew on the show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," a show about individuals fighting addiction, a challenge Conaway faced throughout his life. Conaway also released a single album in 1988. Jeff Conaway will be dearly missed. He is survived by his family and friends.
