It is with sadness that we announce the death of Jeffrey Hunter who passed away on May 27, 1969, at 42 years of age. Jeffrey Hunter was an English-born American actor known for his role as Captain Christopher Pike in the pilot episode of Star Trek. He also starred in films such as The Searchers, King of Kings, and The Longest Day. Over the course of his film and musical career, Jeffrey achieved great success. Jeffrey was born on November 25, 1926, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended school at Loyola University in New Orleans and after graduating he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He achieved success shortly after, becoming a widely beloved actor within the industry. Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Emily McLaughlin, and two sons, Christopher and Scott. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and fans.
