Jim Brown, a legendary football player and actor, passed away on May 18, 2023, at the age of 87. Jim was born in St. Simons, Georgia, on February 17, 1936. He is best remembered for his Pro Football accomplishments with the Cleveland Browns, where he won an NFL Championship, was named MVP three times, and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. During his nine-year NFL career, Jim was also an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time rushing champion. In addition to his legendary sports career, Jim was also an accomplished actor, starring in 14 films during the 1960s and 1970s. He also was a civil rights activist, working with the NAACP and other organizations to push for social change. Jim's life was also tumultuous at times, and he was sentenced to jail for a number of years in the 1980s. Jim was known for his strength, athleticism, and charisma throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Monique, and two sons, Kevin and Aris, as well as four grandchildren. He will be remembered by many for many years to come.
