John Challis, 79, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on 2021-09-19 00:00:00 UTC, after a longstanding battle with illness. John was born in 1942 in Pittsburg and attended University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate and then master’s degree. He was, and still is, a beloved member of the Pittsburg community, remembered fondly by those who knew him. Throughout his life, John was an active and dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church and helped lead various volunteer initiatives. He was an avid reader, and he leaves behind a grand collection of books to remember him by. He was also an avid traveler, having ventured to places like China, England and Israel. John leaves behind a wife of more than 30 years, two children, three grandchildren, and extended family and countless friends around the world. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put the wellbeing of others first. He will be deeply missed.
