John Derek, beloved actor and director, passed away on May 22nd, 1998. He was 71. He was born on August 12th, 1926 in Hollywood, California. John Derek was best known for his starring roles in films from the 1950s and 1960s, including The Inferno of the Age and Lafayette Escadrille. He made a name for himself as a director with Ten, starring Bo Derek, the actress whom he married in 1976. John Derek's career in entertainment spanned more than five decades, and he achieved success as both an actor and director. John Derek is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Bo Derek, as well as his daughter, actress and singer, Sean Shepard. John Derek was a kind and beloved member of the movie industry. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved him.
