It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Green. Keith died on July 28, 1982, at the age 28. A gifted and passionate singer, songwriter, and pianist, Keith achieved great success in his short but highly influential life. He released his self-titled debut album in 1977, which spawned several hits such as "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" and "Asleep in the Light," gained him a large and devoted following. He released three more albums during his lifetime, and worked with many legendary musicians including Larry Norman and Phil Keaggy. Keith was a passionate advocate for social and spiritual causes, reflecting his passionate Christian faith. He used his fame and influence to speak out against social injustices such as the starvation in Ethiopia, and was a lifelong supporter of the needy and the oppressed. Keith leaves behind a legacy as one of the most influential Christian musicians of the latter half of the 20th century. He will be missed by his family, friends, and fans around the world. May he rest in peace.
