Lee Miglin passed away on May 4th, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 72. Lee was a well-known and respected businessman, philanthropist and civic leader in Chicago. In 1959, he co-founded the Miglin-Beitler real estate and development firm, which went on to become the largest independently held real estate company in the Midwest. Lee was a devoted husband and father. He married Marlena Miglin, nee Rubio, in 1961, and they had two children, Maria and Duke. His civic involvement included roles as an early supporter and Chair of the Rush University Medical Center Board of Trustees, a founding member and President of the Chamber of Commerce of the 33rd Ward, and a board member of the American Academy of Music. Lee was a dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America, receiving the National Silver Beaver Award for his service to scouting. Additionally, he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award from the International Facility Management Association. Lee will be sorely missed by family and friends.
