Frank Thornton, born on August 15th, 1920, passed away peacefully during the night of March 15th, 2013, at the age of 92. Frank grew up in rural Nebraska, learning the trade of farming by his father's side. He eventually served in the United States Army in World War II, fighting for his country in the Pacific Theater for three years. Frank married his sweetheart and love of his life, Mary, in 1950. Together they moved to the small town of Wilsonville, NE where they both opened a small store. The couple raised three children: Henry, Sarah, and Paul. In addition to his devoted love for his family, Frank was also an active member of his church and volunteered regularly at several local nonprofits. Frank was remembered as a dedicated father, a loving husband, a loyal friend, and a man of great faith. He will be forever remembered and sorely missed. A funeral will be held in his memory at Wilsonville United Methodist Church at 11 AM on March 19th. In lieu of flowers, the family of Frank Thornton requests that donations be made to Westside Community Services, an organization close to his heart.
