Lou Pearlman, music producer and former businessman, died on August 19th 2016 at the age of 62. Pearlman was born in Flushing, New York City but moved to Orlando, Florida in 1968. His career began in music production in the 1980's. He was the founder and CEO of Trans Continental Records, a label specialising in pop music and boy bands, and launched the popular groups *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. Later, he moved into business and aviation financing and became head of Trans Continental Airlines. He was also a flight school owner in the early 2000's. Pearlman was involved in numerous legal disputes in later years related to real estate and finance, and was convicted of running an extensive Ponzi Scheme in 2008. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison but was released in early 2016 citing poor health. Lou Pearlman is survived by his brother, Leslie; and his three children, Tyler, Scarlet and Austin.
