It is with immense sadness that we mourn the passing of Mark Blum, who passed away on March 25, 2020, at the age of 69. Mark was born in New York City on May 22, 1950 and developed a passion for acting early on. He attended New York University and received a B.A. degree in theater in 1972. Mark went on to appear in over 70 films, television series, and Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. He was best known for roles in films such as Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Crocodile Dundee (1986), and most recently, The Meyerowitz Stories (2017). He made his Broadway debut in the play My One and Only, and his Off-Broadway debut in the Tony and Pulitzer-winning play The Shadow Box. He also appeared in the hit television series Miami Vice and Law & Order. Mark was an avid supporter of the theatre community in New York and was an active member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre, where he served as a mentor to younger members. Mark is survived by his stepson Eric, daughter Allegra, and two granddaughters. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
