Myrtle Corbin, world-renowned four-legged woman, died on May 6, 1928, at the age of 59. Born in 1869 near Appomattox, Virginia, she rose to international fame as an entertainer, performing in some of the largest circuses and vaudeville shows. Myrtle was born with the rare birth defect of dipygus, causing her to have four legs, four feet, and two separate spines. Despite the challenges this posed, she went on to use her deformity to her advantage and traveled the world to perform her show. Myrtle Corbin was an incredibly unique individual and loved by all. She leaves a legacy of courage and determination and she is celebrated for her strength and hard work.
