On October 13th, 2004, renowned Indian actress Nirupa Roy passed away at the age of 73. Born Nakurmah Roy on January 4th, 1931 in Gujarat, India, Nirupa Roy had an illustrious career as an actress in Hindi cinema spanning over three decades, from 1961 to 1993. She acted in more than 200 films, and received numerous accolades for her performances, including a Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 1972 for her role in the movie Bawarchi. Nirupa Roy also starred in cult-classic films like Deewar (1975), Suhaag (1979), Karz (1980), Mard (1985), and Shaktiman (1993). She is survived by her sons, producer Sanjay Gupta and actor Ajay Roy. Nirupa Roy will be remembered for her contribution to Indian cinema and her immense talent. She will always be in the hearts of her fans who admired her work.
