Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881-1975) passed away at 93 years old on 1975-02-14. Wodehouse was a British humorist and writer with a highly successful career that spanned more than seven decades. He was responsible for some of the twentieth century’s most beloved comic characters and famous for creating the popular fictional world of Jeeves and Bertie Wooster. Wodehouse was knighted in 1975, shortly before his death, for his contributions to literature. His works were translated into numerous languages and he was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize for Literature several times over the course of his career. His major works include Psmith in the City, Carry on Jeeves, My Man Jeeves, Right Ho, Jeeves, and Double Love, among many others. He is remembered as one of the most popular and successful writers of his time.
