It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pablo Acosta Villarreal, who passed away on April 24th, 1987, at the age of 50. Pablo was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, on August 4th, 1937. He was well-known as a drug lord of the Mexican-American border during the 1980s, and was linked to the cocaine trade and organized crime. Pablo was an iconic figure in his native Mexico, admired by many and feared by many others. He was credited with breathing life into the Mexican drug trade, and is credited with being one of the most influential drug lords in history. This remarkable figure left behind a lasting legacy, and he will be forever remembered for his tenacity and courage. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
