Peter Scolari, an actor from the United States, passed away on October 22, 2021 at the age of 66. He was best known for his roles in movies and television series, such as Newhart, Bosom Buddies, and High Fidelity, as well as his roles on Broadway in shows such as Hairspray, Little Me, and Bullets Over Broadway. Scolari attended school in East Meadow, New York, and graduated with a degree in fine arts from California Institute of the Arts in 1976. His career began at The Groundlings Theatre Company in Hollywood, where he appeared in various improvisation and sketch comedy shows. Soon after, his career took off with roles on various television comedy series, including Laverne & Shirley, Punchline, and Suddenly Susan. His other career highlights and accomplishments include various stage performances, the first being a three-month performance at the Players Theatre in New York City. In addition, he was awarded the Sarasota Magazine Theatre Award for his performance in Hairspray. Peter Scolari will be remembered for his comedic roles, talent, and for bringing joy to the audiences around the world. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cheston, and his three children.
