Philip Seymour Hoffman, renowned actor and filmmaker, passed away on 2 February 2014 at the age of 46 after a long career in the entertainment industry. Hoffman had an extensive filmography, beginning with his first movie role in 1991's 'Triple Bogey on a Par Five Hole'. He achieved critical acclaim for his performances in Capote (2005), Doubt (2008) and The Master (2012), eventually winning an Academy Award and three Tony Award nominations for his work on stage and screen. Hoffman's prolific career in film, television and theater included roles in critically acclaimed and beloved films such as The Big Lebowski (1998), Mission Impossible III (2006) and as the voice of Gusteau in Ratatouille (2007). He founded the LAByrinth Theater Compay in 1992 and served as an artistic director for 15 years. As a filmmaker, Hoffman directed 2010's Jack Goes Boating. Hoffman is survived by his longtime partner Mimi O'Donnell and three children; Cooper Alexander, Tallulah and Willa. He will always be remembered for his artistic contribution to film, theater and television.
