On October 28th, 2007, Porter Wagoner passed away at the age of 80. Born in West Plains, Missouri, Porter moved to Nashville as a teenager and began a career as a professional musician. Throughout the 1950s he released seven Top 10 Country singles and began his career as a Grand Ole Opry member in 1957. Porter achieved significant success, charting 17 number one hits on the Billboard Country Music Chart and selling over 25 million records. Aside from his solo recordings, he frequently collaborated with Dolly Parton including the release of the successful duet "Please Don't Stop Loving Me". His career won him a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002 and he was also awarded multiple Grammy Awards throughout his lifetime. Porter's passion for music will be remembered through his recordings and the many lives he touched during his lifetime.
