It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing away of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, who died in her sleep on October 29th, 2004 at the remarkable age of 102 years. Alice was born at ‘Montague House’ in London on 25th of December 1901. She married The Duke of Gloucester in 1934 and was recognized widely as one of the longest-standing members of the British Royal Family. Alice was known for her graceful and generous nature. Her service to the monarchy spanned seven decades during which she supported charitable causes. She was a patron of over 300 charities and touched the lives of many. Alice is survived by her son, The Duke of Gloucester. The Duchess's many years will always be remembered with love and admiration.
