Richard Moll, an Emmy Award-winning actor and voice actor, passed away at the age of 80 on October 26th, 2023. He was born in Pasadena, California in 1943, and had an extensive professional career spanning five decades. He attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where he graduated with a Master’s degree in acting. He is best known for his role as public defender Bull Shannon in the television series Night Court, for which he won an Emmy Award in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actor. He also had a number of memorable roles in feature films, such as Magic, Measure of a Man, Big Bully, and Addams Family Values. He provided the voices for a variety of characters in animated films, such as Captain Hook in Peter Pan and the Pirates, Professor Montague in A Goofy Movie, and the section chief in The Iron Giant. In addition to his extensive body of work in television and film, he also had a successful career as an audiobook narrator. He was a popular figure in the industry, known for bringing an air of levity to the set and for inspiring those around him. His famous catchphrase, “At least I still have my looks,” quickly became his legacy. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, two sons, three daughters, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
