We mourn the passing of Road Warrior Hawk (Michael Hegstrand), born on December 29, 1957. Road Warrior Hawk was an iconic professional wrestler, who competed in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). As part of the 'Legion of Doom' tag team, along with Road Warrior Animal, Hawk was a two-time WWF World Tag Team Champion and won multiple other championships in the NWA, AWA, and WCW. Outside of the ring, Hawk was known for his wild clothes and wilder entrance music, and regularly appeared in the magazine Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Hawk stayed in the wrestling business until 2003, when he succumbed to a heart attack at the age of 46. He is survived by his wife Vickie, children Sterling, Megan, Joe and Breanne, and grandchild Brooklyn. We honor the memory of Road Warrior Hawk for his contributions to the world of professional wrestling, and his wild and untrammeled spirit. He will be deeply missed.
