Robert "Rob" Hall (1961 - 1996) passed away peacefully on May 11th, 1996, in the mountains of Nepal. He was 35 years old. Rob Hall was a celebrated mountaineer and adventurer, who had summited Mt. Everest five times by May 1996, leading more expeditions to the summit than any other person in history. He is survived by his wife Jan Arnold and their daughter Sarah. Upon his final ascent of Everest, on May 10th, 1996, he became unfortunately caught in a snowstorm on his descent, leading to his death. Rob was an inspiration to many people interested in outdoor pursuits and he will be remembered for his passion for travel and for his knowledge and respect for the mountains.
