Ron Glass, beloved actor, passed away November 25, 2016 at 71 years of age. Ronald Earl Glass was born July 10, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana. After high school, he attended the University of Oregon, where he was a cheerleader and graduated with a degree in drama. He went on to pursue a career in acting, beginning on the Broadway stage. In the 70's, Ron entered television, making appearances in episodes of shows such as All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and Hawaii Five-o. He is best remembered for his role as Detective Ron Harris on the long-running sitcom, Barney Miller. Later in his career, he played Shepherd Book on the science fiction show Firefly, in addition to appearing in other television series. In his lifetime, Ron achieved success and was respected for his work in Hollywood. He will be remembered for his warmth and kindness. Ron is survived by his siblings Kirby and Verna and his nieces and nephews. His lasting legacy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
