Saroj Khan, a Bollywood dance choreographer and one of the most successful and influential figures in the Indian film industry, has passed away on July 3, 2020 at the age of 71. Originally from Madhya Pradesh, India, Khan began her career in the film industry in 1972. She choreographed her first song, “Thoda Resham Lagta Hai,” that year. Khan went on to create over 2000 songs in her iconic career and won numerous awards for her stunning choreography. She had worked with Bollywood's biggest stars, from Amitabh Bachchan to Deepika Padukone, and created numerous memorable dances, including Madhuri Dixit's iconic “Ek Do Teen” in the movie Tezaab, and the “Chane Ke Khet Mein” song from the film Anjaam. She also choreographed popular reality shows such as Boogie Woogie and Nach Baliye. Khan was well renowned in the dance community and her contributions to Indian cinema have been monumental. She will be remembered for her incredible work and her passion for the art of dance.
