Schlitzie the Pinhead, born January 10, 1901, passed away on September 24, 1971 at the age of 70. Schlitzie was an American sideshow performer widely-known for his roles in the 1930 film “Freaks” and the 1941 film “Bedlam”. Although his exact diagnosis was never clearly documented, his medical condition resembled that of microcephaly. He spent much of his life touring and performing in sideshows and carnivals. He was known for his entertaining antics and jovial personality, and is survived by those who appreciated his unique artistry. His legacy will live on.
