On January 30, 2007, Sidney Shepard passed away at the age of 89. He was an accomplished American novelist, screenwriter and television producer known for his numerous contemporary fiction bestsellers. Shelton wrote his first novel, The Naked Face, in 1970 and was the first to adapt his book to the screen the following year. He wrote more than 30 novels in his lifetime and many of them became popular movies and mini-series such as Bloodline, Rage of Angels and The Other Side of Midnight. The brilliant novelist won an Oscar for Best Story for A Executive Suite in 1954, two Edgar Awards and the prestigious John Creasey Memorial Award for outstanding crime fiction. He received numerous awards and honors throughout his life. Shelton's success and brilliance changed the landscape of modern fiction and he leaves behind a timeless legacy.
