Stuart Scott, beloved ESPN anchor, passed away on Sunday, January 4th, 2015. He was 49 years old. Scott was widely known for his catchphrases and charisma in sports broadcasting, first hosting SportsCenter and afterward developing his own platform on ESPN. His unique presentation style changed the way sports fans view their favorite teams and athletes. Scott received numerous awards throughout his career, including several Emmys, two ESPYS and the Radio Television Digital News Association’s prestigious Presidential Award. He was also honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in 2014 for his courage and strength in the face of numerous bouts with cancer. Beyond his career in television, Scott was a devoted family man. He is survived by his two teenage daughters, Sylee and Taelor, whom he often cited as his inspiration and "main motivation". He also shared a son, Drew, with his high school sweetheart, Kim. His close friends and colleagues remember him as a loyal friend and tireless professional. Scott will be remembered as a man of great courage and resilience in the face of adversity. His innovative style of sports reporting and comedic catchphrases, along with his passionate devotion to his family, will be greatly missed.
