Arun Kumar Chatterjee, age 53, passed away on July 24th, 1980. Arun gained success in his homeland of India by working as a mechanical engineer and professor at IIT Kharagpur. He achieved a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Calcutta and served not only in India, but also at the University of Wisconsin in the USA and the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. Arun was passionate about research and working with students. He made significant contributions to the world of engineering and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his students. In his efforts, he set an example of hard work and dedication to those around him. His contributions are remembered fondly by his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be dearly missed.
