The world lost one of its most celebrated writers and all-around movie experts, William Goldman, 87, on November 16, 2018. William Goldman was the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of such iconic films as All the President's Men, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and The Princess Bride, among many others. He also served as a script doctor for motion pictures, including A Few Good Men, Misery, and Indecent Proposal. Known for his wit and self-deprecating humor, Goldman had a gift for clever dialogue, keen insight into the world of Hollywood, and an unquenchable curiosity about the world. Goldman also wrote numerous acclaimed books including Adventures in the Screen Trade and Boys and Girls Together. William Goldman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ilene, and their two children, Jenny and James. His legacy lives on in the hearts of fans and colleagues around the world.
