Smita Patil, a beloved Indian film actress, passed on December 13th, 1986, at the young age of 31. She worked an impressive seven-year career, acting in over 25 films across various genres. Smita was born on October 17th, 1955, in Pune, India. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pune in 1976. The same year, she married actor Raj Babbar. Smita was best known for her roles in critically-acclaimed films like Bhumika in 1977, Chakra in 1981, Bazaar in 1982, and Mandi in 1983. Her work in the Hindi film industry garnered her a plethora of awards, including Filmfare Best Actress Award, Padma Shri Award, and National Film Award for Best Actress. Smita is survived by her family, friends, and fans worldwide. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her captivating performances and the vibrant spirit she brought to every role.
