With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Amon Göth, who died at the age of 37 on September 13, 1946. Amon Göth was the commandant of the concentration camp Płaszów in Kraków, during the Nazi occupation of Poland. He also served as an SS-Hauptsturmführer and was personally responsible for mass atrocities against Jewish civilian populations and prisoners. Amon was tried by the Polish authorities, found guilty of murder and other heinous crimes against humanity, and was executed by hanging in 1945. He is survived in death by those closest to him, including family members around the world. Amon Göth will be remembered for his role in the Holocaust, though not with fondness. He is gone, but his memory and legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
