Anna Nicole Smith, noted actor, model, and reality TV star, passed away unexpectedly on February 8th, 2007 at the age of 39. Born Vickie Lynn Hogan in the small town of Mexia, Texas, Smith embarked on a career in modeling at the age of 20, when she became Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month in 1993. In 1994, she moved to Los Angeles and married oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, who was 89 years old at the time. That same year, Smith began a short-lived film career with a role in The Hudsucker Proxy. While her career as an actor never fully gained traction, Smith did earn a Golden Globe nomination for her role in her own reality show, The Anna Nicole Show, which aired on E!. Throughout her career, Smith gained notoriety for her headline-grabbing escapades, her seemingly never-ending legal battles, and for being a fashion icon. Her untimely death is mourned by her son, Daniel, whom she had on September 7th, 1986. May she rest in peace.
