On April 8, 2013, Annette Funicello passed away at the age of 70 from multiple sclerosis. Annette was born October 22, 1942 in Utica, New York. She is best known for her time as a beloved Mouseketeer on the hit television series The Mickey Mouse Club from 1955 to 1959. After her Disney days Annette had a successful career starring in several Beach Party films throughout the 1960s. She is survived by her husband, Glen Holt, and her three children. Annette was a dedicated philanthropist who devoted much of her time to the Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases, which she established in 1993. A remembrance ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
