It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arturo Gatti. Born in Italy on April 15th, 1972, Arturo was 37 years old when he died on July 11th, 2009. Arturo was a world-famous professional boxer. He held titles for the IBF Super Featherweight and WBC Lightweight divisions. He also had an impressive record of 40 wins, 9 losses, and 31 of the wins were by knockout. He had a passion for sport outside of the ring. He was an avid snowboarder, golfer and hockey player. He was also well known for having an outgoing and friendly personality. Arturo is survived by his daughter, Sofia, his wife, Amanda Rodrigues, his father, mother and siblings, in addition to many extended family members. He will be remembered by fans and friends around the world for his contributions to boxing. He leaves behind an impressive legacy and will be deeply missed.
