The London-born Hepburn spent much of her early career as a dancer before transitioning to the silver screen in the 1940s. She is best known for her roles in the classic films Breakfast at Tiffany's, Roman Holiday, and My Fair Lady all of which won her Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe Award. Hepburn's personal style held as much prestige as her acting prowess. She was famed for her wardrobe of iconic black Givenchy dresses and signature headpieces. Her timeless fashion became one of her most recognised legacies. In addition to her fame as an actress and fashion icon, Hepburn was an exceptional humanitarian. She spent the last 17 years of her life as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. Her efforts included helping millions of starving children in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, which earned her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1989. Audrey Hepburn was one of an elite class of actresses who transcended time.
